There’s something quietly striking about a beautifully styled wedding easel. Whether welcoming your guests at the entrance to your venue or for guiding them through your day, a thoughtfully chosen wedding sign displayed on an easel brings both function and style to your big day.
From soft, romantic settings to modern, minimal venues, the right easel stand wedding setup can transform your signage into a considered design moment. It provides a fantastic photo opportunity too!

Types of Easels Available
For a timeless look, wooden easels particularly in oak or whitewash finishes offer warmth and elegance and pair beautifully with my calligraphy led designs. For a more contemporary feel, metal easels in black, gold, or acrylic create a clean, refined silhouette that complements modern typography and minimalist layouts. If your venue leans towards the outdoors, sturdier easels with wider bases are essential. For indoor ceremonies, you have more flexibility to prioritise aesthetics over structure.
Speak to your venue upfront about whether they have any easels you can use so you know what you're working with, otherwise you'll need to hire some for on the day.

Sizing and Proportion
Your easel and sign should feel balanced and I recommend a more minimal vibe, particularly for welcome signs. As a general guide, A1 signs work beautifully with full-height easels for welcome signage. A1 or A2 sizes are ideal for more detailed pieces like order of the day or seating plans. Smaller signs can sit on tabletop easels for the little thoughtful touches.
The goal is for your sign to sit comfortably within the frame of the easel, never too small that it feels lost, and never so large that it overwhelms.

Venue Considerations
Your venue plays an important role in how your easel signage is styled. For grand entrances or manor houses, a larger easel with a statement sign provides a stylish welcome. In rustic barns or garden settings, softer finishes and natural textures feel right at home. For city venues or contemporary spaces, sleek lines and pared-back designs always look classic.
Where you place your signage is important, welcome signs at the entrance to the venue and table plans close to the wedding breakfast set up, where there's room for your guests to find where they are sitting.

Styling Multiple Easels
I create all the on the day wedding signage as a cohesive design. Think of it as a collection with the welcome sign at the entrance, an order of the day sign to guide guests through what is happening and when and a table plan for the wedding breakfast.
Easels are most commonly styled with wedding florals for a beautiful look. Candles can also look great placed at the base of the easel. It all depends on your theme of the day and your colour palette to pull everything together. You can have fun with your signage too, just like this 'Sip and Solve' sign with a crossword for wedding guests to enjoy together which looked great and was easily accessible placed on an easel.
