ROMEO AND JULIET REIMAGINED WITH BESPOKE STATIONERY

Sharing a gorgeous styled shoot on the blog today with a shoot inspired by the Baz Lurhman adaptation of Romeo and Juliet. The shoot was located at Somerley House, an impressive stately home in Hampshire, which is available for wedding hire. Designed by wedding photographers, The Springles, the shoot felt like a painting you could step into, with a dramatic colour palette and sacred heart imagery, combining modern romance with timeless storytelling.

Romantic and theatrical wedding stationery helped set the scene with rich burgundy paired with soft blush and delicate ivory illustrations to soften the bold tones. Ornate borders, stylish calligraphy and religious inspired motifs nodded beautifully to the visual language of the iconic film. Romantic flourishes referenced renaissance artwork and I used soft blush tones and oval shapes to bring warmth and femininity to the design.

Florist Steph Lovell flowers provided a love story bouquet with dark red roses and unique gerbs with texture and trailing stems for added drama and incredible roses in floral displays which were styled alongside a burgundy and ivory welcome sign.

The wedding breakfast was set up in the incredible stately house and continuing with the burgundy and ivory colour palette, with candles providing a romantic atmosphere.

For each place setting at the wedding breakfast, I used the sacred heart design for each guest place name, using delicate illustrations and a rich burgundy card, which was layered with the wedding menu on white card and a burgundy linen napkin on gold edged plates.
