WEDDING STATIONERY: LUXURY FINISHING TOUCHES

When it comes to finishing touches on wedding stationery, ribbon is one of the most popular. It's a gorgeous way to elevate your wedding stationery, adding texture and colour to tie everything together. I think wedding stationery ribbon provides a lovely romantic feel too!

Ribbon Types and Colours

There are many different types of ribbon available in a whole rainbow of colours to match your wedding stationery. Silk chiffron is the most popular with my wedding planning couples, it has a gorgeous silk like finish but is cheaper than a pure silk ribbon which is hand dyed and therefore more expensive.

If you're looking for the gorgeous finishing touch but are worried about your wedding budget, there are more cost effective ribbons available such as grosgrain which has a ribbed texture or satin. You could opt to have the ribbon just tied around the wedding invitation suite where it will have the most impact.

Ribbon Tying Techniques

How the ribbon is tied is just as important as the ribbon itself becuase it completes the whole look. You can opt for a simple knot to use less ribbon and keep the cost down. Or a traditional bow for a soft, romantic appeal. Either way your wedidng stationery is guaranteed to look gorgeous!

Wax Seal Options

Wax seals are another beautiful finishing touch which look fab paired with ribbon on wedding stationery. You can choose from gorgeous shimmering metallic tones, or subtle pastels to tie in with your stationery colour palette. I can include a bespoke monogram for the wax seal for an extra touch of personalisation as shown on the Summer wedding stationery collection.

On the Day Wedding Ribbon

Beyond the wedding invitation suite, there are so many options to add ribbon as a finishing touch to wedding stationery on the big day itself. If you opt for an order of service booklet or his and hers vow booklets, then ribbon can tie them together beautifully.

Ribbon can be used on the larger stationery items too for an elegant touch, such as this pale blue silk, tied to the couple's order of the day fabric sign. This was part of a gorgeous summer barn pale blue wedding day which you can read more about here.

On the Day Wax Seals

Just as with ribbon, you can include wax seals as part of the design for your wedding stationery on the day. If you've included a wax seal on the wedding invitation then why not include one on the wedding menu too, for an overall cohesive look.
