TRADITIONAL OR MODERN WEDDING INVITATIONS?

Your wedding invitation sets the scene to your guests for what is coming for your big day. With so much choice of stationery I advise to choose what feels right for you as a couple and reflects your personalities. Perhaps there are particular details you would like to include, or you are being guided by what works with your chosen venue. There is so much inspiration online for wedding styling which can help you to make some decisions and of course there’s lots of stationery ideas on my website.

Traditional Wedding Invitations

As a couple you may prefer a more traditional and classic invitation. Many of my calligraphy designs have a timeless and elegant look where I personalise the couple’s names in a range of colours, to suit the style of the invitation. For a more traditional invitation the wording may be formal such as your parents or family inviting guests to the wedding day, such as the example below. A more modern approach is to send the invitation from yourselves.

I use high quality card across all of the wedding invitations and stationery. To add on some gorgeous rich textures you can choose a gold foil to make the invitation look elegant. There’s an array of finishing touches too, such as wax seals or an illustration of your wedding venue, as shown in the Ellie stationery collection.

Modern Wedding Invitations

For a more modern wedding invitation, there are many options within my curated collection of wedding stationery designs. The Olivia collection combines calligraphy with contemporary curved edged card on a dusky pink card. Each of the collections can be customised to suit the wedding palette of your choice.

Modern wedding invitations can be customised to add a QR code or link to your wedding website to direct guests to read all the details of the wedding day. Usually, couples have the invitations sent to print and send them in the post, however a more modern approach is to send the invitation by email or text to your guests. I provide the design as a PDF or jpeg file.

Wedding Invitation Samples

If you are stuck between a few designs or getting a feel for an invitation, I have a range of invitation samples available to buy on my website. Many couples have said how useful this has been to narrow down their options, by helping them to get a feel for the particular finishes and the colours. All of the wedding invite samples can be found here. This is the classic Eloise invitation combining rose gold foil and a heart detail on crisp white card with a wax seal finishing touch.

Bespoke Wedding Stationery

I also offer a bespoke wedding stationery service if you would like something outside of my collection of designs. I work closely with you to design stationery that is one of a kind and truly bespoke to you. Such as this wedding stationery which included deckle edges, gold modern calligraphy, gold leaf accents and bespoke his and hers vow booklets.
