MODERN ELEGANCE WEDDING INSPIRATION

The vision for this styled shoot was modern elegance, by the super talented wedding planner Amie Jackson. A chic and contemporary style using subtle contrasts and textures and all captured by Fine Art photographer Claire Graham.

Cornwell Manor in the Cotswolds was the perfect backdrop for this modern elegance shoot. A 2,000 acre estate featuring beautiful gardens, natural woodlands, lakes and streams. Amie selected a classic colour palette of black and white and taking a cue from the wildflowers around the manor and updated it with hints of berry plus foliage and dusky pink florals by Willow & Blue.

Inside Cornwell Manor allowed classic elegance juxtaposed with modern sophistication, using contrasting light airy spaces with dark velvet and subtle accents of berry tones.

Wedding Tablescape

For this shoot two different dining atmospheres were created. Outside, nestled between the manicured hedges the wedding breakfast table was set up with a relaxed yet refined style.

Love the gorgeous blooms by Willow & Blue with the pops of colour from the berries used and the pale pinks to lighten the intensity of the black crockery and gold cutlery.

Inside, a more formal wedding table was set up with the stunning, unstructured floral fireplace installation as the backdrop. The inclusion of eucalyptus meant the foliage smelt amazing too!

The table featured chic tablewear from Whitehouse Crockery. Irregular shaped plates, monochrome napkins, textured crystal glasses, black and white tapered candles and ghost chairs for a contemporary and sophisticated look.

Wedding Stationery

Monochrome wedding stationery always looks so chic and stylish. I used contrasting black place names and white menus which featured a contemporary wax seal detail. Placed on the monochrome crockery and accessorised with gold cutlery this is such a gorgeous look.

I love using hand drawn modern calligraphy to personalise wedding stationery. The white calligraphy creates such beautiful standout on the black background. If you’re looking for personalised wedding stationery I have my curated collection of designs here which are all fully customisable to your wedding colour palette and styling.

Wedding Cake

Can we just take a moment to admire this incredible cake! Anna Lewis Cakes was asked for a cake with texture and delivered this exquisite fine art masterpiece! Accompanied with black and white dappled macarons, biscuits and chocolates on the dessert table. A real show stopper!

Bridal and Groom Outfits

A classic elegant style with a modern twist was the criteria for styling the bride and groom for this shoot. The first look for the bride included a Stephanie Allin ballgown from Morgan Davies Bridal. The dress features off the shoulder straps and a full organza skirt, perfect for capturing the movement and textures of this shoot. The groom wore a black and white tuxedo with velvet fabric for a stylish edge.

Hair and make up artist Jennifer Hawkins gave the bride soft flowing waves and accessorised with a gold and ivory headband by Aureus Flos, along with matching tassel earrings. Subtle make up was used to enhance her natural beauty.

The bride’s second look was a Maggie Sottero A-line gown with a v neckline, laced beaded bodice and over-sized hoop earrings for a playful yet refined style. The groom wore a striking berry tuxedo blazer. Both the bride and groom wore bespoke gold wedding bands handcrafted by Cyrilyn Silver.

Wedding Table Plan

Designing a table plan for the wedding day is always a fun way to get creative! For this shoot I created monochrome table numbers, which were suspended from a frame by luxurious black velvet ribbon to add to the textures of this stylish shoot.
