I was thrilled to be a part of this intimate elopement inspiration shoot, taking inspiration from the styling, couple, and venue into my subtle, handmade gold leaf stationery. Concept, styling and Props all by Nikki at Toast. Captured beautifully by Elena Popa photography.
The Bride’s Story
The shoot was designed by Nikki at Toast to raise awareness of alopecia. The bride Jen has tirelessly promoted its raw beauty and femininity. Jen described this shoot as “shining a positive light on beauty and strength”.
During the shoot Jen shared an open letter with her fiancé Olly about the incredible support he has given her. It just goes to show how meaningful and romantic an intimate elopement can be even without guests!
Inspiration for an Intimate Elopement
The shoot took part at The Glasshouse in Sussex. A beautiful restored Victorian glasshouse, styled by Nikki to feature a bathtub and stunning wedding breakfast table.
The glasshouse was adorned with seasonal, early autumnal flowers and foliage by florist Tigers to Lillies. I’m in love with the styled bath set up which was inspired by the wildness of the glasshouse before it was restored. It’s breath-takingly beautiful!
Gold Leaf Wedding Stationery
It was a dream to work with this ethereal style and meaningful shoot. I created wedding stationery which included deckle edges, hand drawn gold modern calligraphy and gold leaf accents. The stationery collection worked seamlessly with the muted autumnal florals and table accessories.
If you’re inspired by this stationery have a look at The Deckle stationery collection on my website which is printed on handmade paper with hand torn deckle edges.
The Bridal Looks
Nikki from Toast created two looks for bride Jen to embrace alopecia. The first ‘Fragile like a Flower’ celebrated Jen’s bravery. This look featured a stunning bespoke bridal headpiece by Ophelia Ren Bridal adorned with handmade flowers. Jen wore an incredible dress with beautiful fairy tale sleeves from Julita London Bride for an ethereal and feminine look.
The second look ‘Fragile like a Bomb’ showed Jen’s strength and her defiance to alopecia. My favourite part of this look is the incredible sequin cape from Julita London Bridal. Jen also wears an ear cuff by Tilly Thomas Lux.
The sequin cape here was paired with fabulous statement earrings by Tilly Thomas Lux.
The Groom’s Styling
The groom Olly looked suitable stylish in a suit and bow tie from Menswearr. The vow booklet held by Olly was adorned with gold leaf, included personalised modern calligraphy, and was secured with a neutral silk ribbon.
Bespoke Always and Forever Sign
I created a bespoke sign featuring hand drawn ‘always & forever’ modern calligraphy paired with the couple’s name and date. A beautiful momento to keep along with the vow booklets.
