FINISHING TOUCHES TO WEDDING STATIONERY

There are so many gorgeous finishing touches you can add to wedding stationery to make it truly personal to you as a couple and to create a real wow factor for guests. The finishing touches are mostly used on the save the dates and wedding invitations, however some can be used all the way through to your on the day stationery items too.

Wax Seal

Available in a range of shimmery tones or subtle pastels to co-ordinate with your wedding stationery, a wax seal provides a touch of luxury as your guests open the envelope. This gorgeous example is the Clara wedding stationery collection where a white wax seal is also used to secure the vellum wrap with subtle floral illustrations. Adding a vellum layer gives a layer of protection to the invite and a little glimpse of the design underneath.

Wax seals are a gorgeous finishing touch to add to on the day items such as this bronze foliage beauty added to the guest place name.

Venue Illustration

A hand drawn illustration of your wedding venue on your wedding stationery is a truly personal touch and is exciting for guests to know where the big day is taking place. A venue illustration provides an amazing keepsake for couples too. I’ve recently written a blog post all about different wedding venue illustration ideas which you can read here.

Bespoke Monograms

Consider having a bespoke monogram designed as part of your wedding stationery. I design the monogram with hand drawn calligraphy using your initials and can add this across any of the wedding stationery items. The Emma wedding stationery collection shows how the bespoke monogram can be included amongst hand drawn calligraphy and a vellum wrap.

Envelope Liners

Add a pop of colour to your wedding invitation envelopes with an envelope liner. Or take it one step further and combine a venue illustration as part of the envelope liner to excite your guests, such as this bespoke design I created for a Provence wedding. I offer a completely bespoke to you wedding stationery service if you’re looking for something different.

Vellum Band

The invitation suite contains the invite card, the details card and an RSVP card. Instead of having the cards loose within the envelope, consider a vellum band to tie the cards together. On the Georgia wedding stationery collection I use a vellum band to secure the cards together and these are printed to include the guest’s names.

Ribbon

A ribbon is a beautiful and classic way to add a finishing touch to wedding stationery. There are lots of options available so you can tie in the colours used on your wedding stationery, for example all neutrals are used on the Olive wedding stationery collection.
