DESTINATION WEDDING STATIONERY

Are you considering a destination/overseas wedding for your big day? How exciting! Bear in mind that destination weddings require lots of early planning to ensure your guests have all the information they need and are inspired to book their flights and travel to share your celebration.

A wedding website is an ideal solution to compile all the information about your destination wedding day and trip, so everything is together in one place. This is particularly useful if you have any pre or post wedding events which are part of the itinerary for the whole trip and if you need RSVPs to particular events. If you choose to have a wedding website, you are then able to have a simple invitation card sent out to guests.

I have a curated collections of designs available on my website and you can order samples here to get a feel for the colours and foil options. All of the designs can be changed to your wedding colour palette, or I can create something completely bespoke for you.

Here’s the Olivia stationery collection with contemporary angled edges and modern calligraphy in pink and white tones.

Destination Wedding Invitation

You will need to ensure your guests have all the information they need to make travel bookings, including the plan for the duration of the wedding and not just the wedding day itself. Make it as easy as possible for your guests by including accommodation options and travel information.

Consider sending a save the date as early as you can, 12-18 months in advance if you’re able to. Ideally invitations giving guests more detail of what is happening and when should be sent 3-4 months before the big day.

The save the date is the first impression your guests will have of your wedding style. This example is from The Olive stationery collection, pairing letterpress printing with luxe handmade deckle edge paper for a gorgeous look.

Destination Wedding Stationery Colours

If you’re in a warm country, consider a bright and bold colour palette for a tropical vibe.

You might be inspired by something specific to the country you are getting married in or your wedding venue has a particular kind of style. Ultimately your wedding stationery reflects you and your personality as a couple so choose what you love!

This couple opted for a pale lilac colour palette which was consistent across all the wedding stationery. I love how layered stationery looks for a guest place setting as shown here with a menu and place name layered on beautiful lilac linen and accessorised with a tassel as a finishing touch.

Destination Wedding On The Day Stationery

Your main thing to consider is how you will transport your on the day stationery to your destination, baring in mind how much luggage you have! It’s a good idea to ask close family or friends to include in some of their luggage. This way you can travel with personalised wedding stationery such as place names, table names and menus. All of these on the day items are provided flatpack so easy to add to luggage.

Small signs are a lovely way to highlight any details to guests and as they are smaller, easier to transport too! They also help with styling on the big day to bring your wedding colour palette to life.

You don’t have to skip the bigger signage but just consider what it is printed on. Welcome signs and table plans can be printed on fabric which is a great option to fold up small and pop in a suitcase!
